Secondo l’ambasciata bielorussa, prima della partita di stasera ci sarà un incontro ufficiale tra Lukashenko e un altro presidente molto discusso: l’ucraino Viktor Ianukovich, che oggi farà gli onori di casa."
D’altronde, tra lacché di Putin ci si intende. Chi era quell’altro che aveva incontrato il baffetto bielorusso? Un italiano…ah, ormai non mi ricordo più come si chiama.

Mario Monti e Mariano Rajoy, che questa sera assisteranno a Kiev alla finale di Euro 2012 tra Italia e Spagna, chiedono al presidente ucraino Viktor Ianukovich di incontrare l’ex premier Iulia Timoshenko, da tempo detenuta con accuse che secondo i suoi sostenitori sono motivate politicamente e attualmente ricoverata in ospedale.
Da ambienti diplomatici dell’Unione europea si apprende che i due capi di governo stanno per inviare una lettera a Ianukovich, nella quale chiedono un rafforzamento dello stato di diritto, auspicano una soluzione positiva del caso Timoshenko e annunciano di aver chiesto di poterla incontrare.

Cani e persone, social attivismo prêt-à-porter
È interessante dal punto di vista dello studio della diffusione dell’attivismo “social” che va tanto di moda vedere quanti caratteri si sprechino a favore di un boicottaggio degli europei di calcio per il caso dei cani uccisi, mentre quasi nulla si dica sulla deriva autoritaria dell’Ucraina filo-putiniana e sulla situazione della Timoshenko.
Non me ne vogliano gli animalisti, anche io ritengo assurdo massacrare dei cani, ma forse ci sono motivi di preoccupazione ben più importanti in Ucraina, che riguardano le persone, e non gli animali.
E boicottare una manifestazione sportiva, o addirittura accusare chi segue la propria squadra di avere le mani insanguinate non sono certo risposte sensate a nessuno dei due problemi.

Se lo ricordino gli ipocriti che sostengono i regimi con la scusa del terrorismo, della propria tranquillità e convenienza, o del finto pacifismo.

Certo, d’altronde è molto saggio mandare in piazza degli squadristi a manganellare i pacifici manifestanti che chiedono solamente la fine di una dittatura criminale sostenuta per 30 anni dall’Occidente, e intimidire i giornalisti internazionali distruggendo le loro attrezzature. Mi pare lo facesse anche un altro grande statista, italiano, del secolo scorso…
(d’altronde, detta dal leader europeo più amato…)

On January 1st, Hungary will take over the Presidency of the EU Council. On the same day, a controversial new law will come into force that even the OSCE’s media freedom representative has openly criticised - arguing in a recent report that “regulating online media is not only technologically impossible but it exerts a chilling, self-censoring effect on free expression.”
Let’s see if Europe will accept another dictatorship again… (and hope that the change in EU Presidency will not affect actions against Lukashenko in #Belarus…)

Message to all Belarus people, Europe and the Earth
This is a message from the future to Belarus population, Europe and the Earth. We are the crew of the Starship Hope.
Once upon a time, there was a little planet. We met it during our casual exploration of Universe, after our victory against the Vensters.
That little planet was ruled by a bad man, who used to control the media, kill the oppositors and scare the population to mantain his power. He was constantly using his military police against the population, to suppress every riot. Information was manipulated, so that the people wasn’t really aware of what the king was doing to that little planet. They were kept in a stable sleeping-like status.
We entered in orbit and started to listen. We knew we had to do something to help the oppressed citizens, so we chose to destroy the castle of regime propaganda by sending messages to all the people on the planet.
We jammed all the official transmissions, replacing them with a more objective vision of what was happening. We teleported messages in all the houses to make people understand they were fooled by a dictator who was stealing their lives.
Oh, the regime tried to fight us. They fired nuclear missiles against us, but that kind of technology was so obsolete, like a mosquito bite for us. Our Atarian crew member (an alien capable to manipulate matter and energy) transformed all the missiles in scented rose petals, falling on the ground for people wonder.
So the king started yelling against us, calling us enemies, but we just ignored him.
After a while, a member of a secret rebel force contacted us. “Why don’t you help us?”, he asked. “We are helping you”, we answered. He seemed not to understand.
“Let me explain”, said Captain Shepard. “We could easily land on your main city, destroy all your military forces, and kick the ass of your king. It would take less than ten seconds.”
“So why don’t you do?”
“Because if we do this for you, it would be a gift, not your conquer. People wouldn’t understand, and you could eventually fall from a dictatorship to another. You all can go there and take your freedom by yourself. We are giving you a choice.”
So the choice was made. Millions of people, awakened from the media-induced coma, started to march against the king. The police, even if well armed, was easily overwhelmed, and most of the cops stopped taking orders by the evil dictator and started doing their real job: protect the people. They joined the rebellion, so that the king was isolated and imprisoned.
Many people died in that day, but freedom always requires a price. It’s something you have to pay for memory, it’s a shield against doing the same errors in the future.
It was the time for us to disappear and leave the planet to it’s new life. We sent a last message with just one word: “Remember”.
And buzzed out of that solar system.
